Bengaluru: Telugu actress Hema has been arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru in connection with the recent rave party case. The CCB conducted a raid on a dusk-to-dawn party on May 19, attended by 103 people, including the actress. Despite initially trying to mislead the authorities by releasing a video claiming she wasn't in Bengaluru and had not received any investigation notices, Hema was apprehended after testing positive for drugs. In her video, Hema had urged the public "not to believe the news" and claimed she was at a farmhouse in Hyderabad.

Sources indicate that Hema will undergo a medical test and will be presented before the court tomorrow. Earlier in May, one of the event organizers from Hyderabad was also arrested. During the raid, 86 individuals, including Hema, tested positive for drugs. The CCB seized Ecstasy pills, cocaine, and other substances from the venue near Electronic City. The party, organized by Hyderabad-based Vasu, ran from 5 pm on May 18 to 6 am on May 19, attracting over 100 attendees from Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru, including DJs, models, actors, and techies. The police confiscated MDMA (Ecstasy) pills, MDMA crystals, hydro cannabis, cocaine, high-end cars, DJ equipment, and sound and lighting gear valued at Rs 1.5 crore.
