Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy has clearly stated in the Assembly that there will not be any benefit shows in the state going forward. He also confirmed that they will not permit a hike in the ticket prices. At the request of Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy visited the KIMS hospital where Sri Tej is undergoing treatment. During the stampede that took place during the Pushpa 2 premiere, Sri Tej's mother breathed her last, and the kid was admitted to the hospital in an emergency.
After handing over a cheque of Rs. 25 lakh rupees to Sri Tej's father, Bhaskar, Komatireddy addressed the media outside the hospital. Speaking with the press, the Minister revealed that he also watched Pushpa 2 and felt his time was wasted.
"I also watched Pushpa 2. But, I decided to watch only historical films, mythological movies, socio-fantasy films, and movies made in the history of Telangana. Instead of spending three and a half hours on this film, I could have visited at least ten villages. I feel that the youth also will get spoiled, watching the movie," revealed Komatireddy Venkata Reddy.
Komatireddy once again clarified that the benefit show culture will officially end in Telangana with Pushpa 2.
