Sensational Star Of The Week - Anjali

August 10, 2014 - 05:52 PM IST Geethanjali

Let’s list down some big names in the chart of heroines we have in Tollywood.
Samantha, Shruti Haasan, Kajal, Tamannaah... etc.

Now let’s jot down some Telugu names that made it big here…
[Still thinking…?]

Well then we propose a name – Anjali.

[Agreed? Have some more names which suit our category?]

Unfortunately not any! Keeping aside the reasons and stuff behind this, we are always bothered and proud about one girl from our Telugu soil in the big name.

After having conquered the Kollywood circuit, Anjali has begun focusing on Telugu industry. Many call her the perfect combination of native beauty and domestic sex appeal. This is something many South Indian men fall for and Anjali has that in the right proportions.

Interestingly, she made her debut almost 8yrs back with Siva Nageswara Rao’s thriller Photo. Her immediate Telugu venture was Premalekha Raasa directed by lyricist turned director Kulasekhar. Even that could not give her the much needed kick-start. For some reason, she shifted her base to Kollywood and rose to stardom with hits like Angadi Theru, Mankatha etc. And her Engeyum Eppodhum (Journey in Telugu) brought her back into the T’town.

When star producer Dil Raju re-introduced her to T’wood through SVSC, all the producers and critics wondered how they could miss out this Telugu girl! While SVSC was a blockbuster, Balupu was just a flash in the pan. Meanwhile her personal problems and the entire 'missing hullabaloo' only created unwanted doubts about her career.

After a disappointer like Masala, here is Anjali back with Geethanjali. This horror comedy is the latest frontrunner at the box-office and Anjali is the new buzzword. Alongside Kona Venkat and Brahmanandam, she is drawing the maximum attention with the film.

Looks like our Telugu girl has escalated into the big game with this success and if this streak continues, she will certainly give all the big players a good run for their money.
