22 years back on this day, a martial arts expert made his debut in movie called Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbai as Megastar Chiranjeevi’s brother. Today, he’s one of the highest paid actors of India and biggest stars of South - ‘Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’. Having emerged as a man of masses, the 47-year old garnered massive fan following over the years and he’s now forayed into politics with his own political party called ‘Janasena’.
In his long journey, Pawan Kalyan had been through several struggles, pain, euphoria and delivered a series of flops after Kushi - but it has only widened his fan-base. With Gabbar Singh in 2012, he made a reverberating comeback by silencing all his critics who took a swipe at him saying his career was over after his films bombed at box-office for 11+ years.
The star actor, who said that he will discontinue films, has entertained audiences with movies of all genres-from the mass actioners like Gabbar Singh and Jalsa to intense love stories like Tholiprema and Kushi and emotional dramas like Attarintiki Daredi & Gopala Gopala. Pawan is known for his simplicity, humbleness, and straightforwardness. His versatility, attention-grabbing onscreen presence and ease in acting gained him the largest fan base in Tollywood. By coining the word 'Pawanism', his aficionados worship his enigma and star power by doing several philanthropic and social activities.
There’s still much left as an actor in Pawan Kalyan, but his decision to stop acting in films has saddened several millions of his fans. On this special day, we wish him all the luck for all his future endeavors in Political arena and cinema.
