The biggest blockbuster in Indian cinema this year is Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Prabhas in the lead role. This Nag Ashwin directorial was a massive hit at the box office and earned more than Rs. 1000 crores in its theatrical run. Towards the end of the film, the makers gave a lead to the second part, confirming the sequel.
Meanwhile, the makers gave a key update about the Kalki 2's shoot. The film's producers, Swapna and Priyanka, are currently participating in Moscow International Film Week.
Speaking to the media there, they revealed that the sequel's shoot may begin either in January or February 2025. They said more details of the sequel will be announced once the filming begins.
The makers stated that already they shot a few portions of part 2 while shooting part 1. Kamal Haasan, who had a short role in the first part, will have a significant screen time in the sequel. Kalki features Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the other lead roles.
