The makers of Ram Charan and Shankar's political drama Game Changer were dealt a significant blow just a day after the film's release as the Telangana government withdrew its earlier G.O. permitting a hike in ticket prices and additional shows in the state.
The government's reasoning for the move was rooted in public welfare, citing concerns for people's health and safety due to potential overcrowding and the precedent it might set for future releases.
Previously, the G.O. had allowed ticket price hikes of Rs. 150 at multiplexes and Rs. 100 at single screens. This raised the maximum ticket prices to Rs. 395 in multiplexes and Rs. 250 at single screens across Telangana.
Already, Game Changer is in theatres and today, Daaku Maharaaj was released. Day after tomorrow, we will be witnessing the release of Sankranthi Ki Vastunnam. We have to see if this will impact the new releases.
