Brahmanandam is unarguably one of the legendary comedians not only in Telugu cinema but also in Indian cinema. With more than 1000 films in his filmography, Brahmanandam has entertained audiences through decades with his impeccable comedy timing and excellent comedy skills.
Brahmanandam has been selective in his choices over the last few years and is not doing numerous films like he did in the past. He is now coming back with the film Brahmanandam, which features his son Raja Gautam in the lead role. Speaking at the teaser launch, he revealed the reason for him to stay away from films.
He said he has a good reputation and he needs to secure it. He said, "I have seen people discussing that the comedy of a few actors was good in the past but the quality has deteriorated in recent times. I don't want to fall in that zone."
"My age is catching up. I can't think I am still young. I am not as active as before. Even filmmakers are offering me the roles and films that I have already done in the past. I feel I shouldn't repeat them," he added.
"That is the reason why I am not acting much these days. It is not because I am not getting offers or I am unable to do them. I don't want to repeat the roles I have done already. Vennela Kishore will carry my legacy in the industry," Brahmanandam stated.
Touted to be a slice-of-life drama featuring Brahmanandam in a never-seen-before role, Brahmanandam is slated for worldwide release on February 14.
