Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently enjoying the success of the movie Daaku Maharaaj. Now, he has more happy news to share with. The actor has been honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award, India’s third-highest civilian accolade.
The Government of India announced the Padma Awards today, ahead of Republic Day, recognizing Balakrishna’s significant contributions to the field of art. There were speculations about him getting an award for quite some time and it has been made official now.
This year, a total of 139 Padma Awards were announced, including 113 Padma Shri, 19 Padma Bhushan, and seven Padma Vibhushan. Alongside Balakrishna, who represents Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Duvvuri Nageshwar Reddy from Telangana has also been conferred the Padma Vibhushan for his exceptional work in medicine and healthcare. We congratulate Balakrishna on this achievement.
