He traps Bhagyam (Praneetha) mistaking her as Dhanunjay’s daughter (Indu) and indulges in a cat and mice fight with Indu, who tries to save Bhagyam from him. Meanwhile Indu loves the oblivious person who saves her best friend from her would be husband Bulli Reddy and helps her elope with her lover. And Obul Reddy (Ajay) hunts for the man who knocks his brother Bulli Reddy and ruins her sister’s marriage. So, how did Karthik identify Indu and accomplish his mission of winning her love amidst Obul Reddy's revenge drama forms the crux of the story.

Performances:

Jr NTR: He is a director’s hero and it is always the directors who should be held responsible for the position he is in today. His utmost belief in the director while signing in for an all-mixture story like Rabhasa is truly laudable. He is as usually superb with his comic timing and dances. Except the unrealistic stunts, NTR was an absolute entertainer in the film.

Brahmanandam: Talking about this second hero in the film, he was the knight in the shining armor for the film. His comedy in the second half takes away all your pains in a whiff! His scenes with NTR were hilarious.

Samantha: Yes…we know she is an all-rounder. She offers a glamor treat in the film and fortunately she’s got a little space for performance as well.

Pranitha: She was hot and cute as a traditional girl in the film. She did her job so well and slipped away slyly.

Nassar & Jayasudha: Unfortunately both of these two big heads have a limited screen time but they do their job in the scope they were offered.

The rest of the cast which includes Jaya Prakash Reddy, Ajay, Shayaji Shinde, Brahmaji, Raghu Babu, Ali, Nagineedu, Madhu, Vennela Rama Ro, Sathish, Satya Krishna, Hema, Nandu etc fill the screen and do a decent job.

Direction:

Santosh Srinvas has a power house like NTR in his hands. One who knows the knack of using the power house lightens up his house or else will end up eating a shock. With due respects to his commitment and strenuous efforts to complete this film, he could only deliver a passable entertainer with a known story, predictable narration and formulaic 'Brahmi comedy' in the second half.

First Half: This is NTR’s one man show all away. Scenes between NTR, Praneetha and Samantha will entertain you for sure. Raakasi Raakasi is one song to watch out for.

Interval Bang: Well, the interval bang ends up on a high note but is absolutely predictable.

Second Half: The true meat of the film lies in this segment and it’s the Rabhasa of NTR and Brahmi that pumps life into the film.

Merits:
- Entertaining performances of the lead cast especially NTR, Samantha, Pranitha, Brahmanandam and JP.
- Dialogues strike the chord and evoke laughter now and then.
- Engaging and entertaining second half stands as an asset to the film.
- Samantha’s glamor.

De-merits:
- A conventional, routine and formulaic story that has been featuring in almost all commercial films these days.
- A pakka commercial treatment which might disappoint the new age cinegoers.

Music:

Thaman did his job by giving a pakka commercial album with his trade mark style Music and back ground score. Raakasi Raakasi song was well-picturized [Pls don’t ask us about the rest of the songs!]

Others:

Cinematography by Shyam K Naidu and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao are top-notch.

Verdict:

Rabhasa is a one-time watch commercial conventional entertainer offering 3 good reasons to watch – NTR, Brahmanandam & Samantha!
