Sanjay Dutt- The Asli Rockstar of Hindi film industry is back on screen after serving his imprisonment in jail. In one way it is called as his comeback film and even Sanjay also listened to many scripts before giving nod to this script. Well, let’s see the Bhoomi Review know whether Sanjay Dutt’s decision selection turns right or wrong?

Story Plot:

Arun Sachdev (Sanjay Dutt) lives with her daughter (Bhoomi Sachdev) in Agra where he runs a handmade footwear shop. He raises her daughter as he lost his wife at Bhoomi’s childhood. Well, Bhoomi falls in love with Neeraj (Sidhant Gupta) and they will get ready for the marriage with the parent's blessings. Just a day prior to the marriage, Bhoomi gets raped by three people and it eventually leads to the cancellation of the marriage and later Bhoomi don’t get justice from the judiciary due to the lack of evidence.

After not getting the justice, what will be the course of this father-daughter duo? What will they do with the criminals? Does she get the justice? These were the questions which will be unfolded on screen.

Performances:

Sanjay Dutt: He is the sole reason to pull the audience to theatres to watch Bhoomi. Sanjay Dutt aka Sanju Baba effortlessly enters into the skin of the character and he attracts the audience to keep the focus on him for the entire movie with his performance.

Aditi Rao Hydari: She is the Bhoomi and she portrayed her anger, sad expressions in a way where each can feel her character while watching the movie. Aditi managed to pull off her character in a way that no one can point out any flaw in her performance.

Sharad Kelkar played the main baddie in the flick and he becomes successful in translating the bad of him on screen with his dynamics of acting.

Analysis:

Similar to the Bhoomi movie’s story plot was discussed through films like Raveena Tandon’s Maatru & Sridevi’s Mom recently. Well, ‘Rape’ is the one objectionable thing that weakening the women in India and we need to appreciate filmmakers for coming up with the films based on this plot.

Director Omung Kumar of Mary Kom, Sarabjit movies fame in associating with Sandeep Singh & Raaj Shaandilya gave a message that one should get the death penalty for the Rape through this movie. These highlighted a sequence where a miscreant who happens to rape the Bhoomi is having the age less than 18 and the lead actors wait until he reaches 18 to punish him. We can relate this sequence to the accused in Nirbhaya case where he was relieved as he was under 18.

In one sequence, when Sanjay Dutt rendering an Aarti, he got questioned by her daughter that why everyone prays for a boy, not a girl. However, these kinds of similar plots were seen in the recent times and it may become repetitive to the audience.

And the movie would have been canned even more gripper than the present. Except for the performances from Sanjay Dutt & Aditi Rao Hydari, everything was routine to the regular movie goers.

Plus Points:

+ Sanjay Dutt
+ Aditi Rao Hydari
+ Court Sequence

Minus Points:

- Predictable Story & Screenplay

Final Verdict:

Watch this film only for Sanjay Dutt & Aditi Rao Hydari.
