After a small gap, Ravi Teja has acted in the movie Raja The Great which is directed by SUPREME fame Anil Ravipudi. In the role of a visually impaired person, how far did Ravi Teja succeed in conjuring the audience? Read on to know how this Raja impressed the viewers.
Story Line:
The movie begins with the story of the heroine- who is named Lucky(Mehreen Pirzada). She is the only daughter of the powerful cop played by Prakash Raj. Being generous, Prakash Raj raises her in the same way. Their happy lives get a huge shock as soon as Prakash Raj gets transferred to a rowdy-infested area. The villain Devraj who is a nefarious person kills Prakash Raj as he gets furious over his brother's police encounter which is led by Prakash Raj and team.
Raja, on the other hand, being visually impaired is trained in martial arts. His mother, who stands strong even if her husband abandons them, teaches Raja how to challenge his disabilities. How Raja gets involved in an operation to save Lucky from Devraj, and what follows is the rest of the story. How Raja faces the huge ensemble of trained and heavily built rowdies even without his sight, is to be watched in the theaters only.
Roles and Performances:
Ravi Teja: Should we even mention about the on-screen energy of our Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja? Yes. We should. Though it is an obvious thing, Ravi Teja is one of the biggest plus points for the movie. In the role of a visually impaired person, Ravi Teja has given his best. His comedy timing, action sequences which were completely convincing(keeping the blind man concept in mind), dance and sentiment were all very well played. Ravi Teja also looks quite young in Raja The Great.
Mehreen Pirzada: Mehreen in the role of Lucky showed a kind of maturity which is very impactful for the mood of the movie. She looks gorgeous in the songs and her action is justified.
Srinivas Reddy: In the role of Bujji which is tangled with the whole story, Srinivas Reddy has done hundred percent justification. Ravi Teja-Srinivas Reddy duo is the most entertaining one.
Raadhika: Senior actress Raadhika has performed very well in the role of Raja's mother. Her action as a strong lady police and a proud mother is well portrayed.
Rajendra Prasad, Vidyu Raman, Pruthvi Raj, Prakash Raj, Sampath Raj etc justified their roles well.
Analysis:
Despite the same old theme, Raja The Great stands unique in many aspects. The screenplay is very fresh and connecting. Each scene is interwoven well. The main roles are well-established. Anil Ravipudi seems to have worked hard, as it is quite visible on the screen. Fights and action sequences are very convincing and well executed. Except for the dragged climax, the whole movie is quite entertaining. The story is straight up to the main point but lacks logic here and there.
Technical Aspects:
The camera's capture of the lens is good in the songs. Music is totally in sync with the story narration, but one will definitely feel that the tunes here and there are repeated. Songs are very well portrayed and credits to the cinematographer. Good locations and well captured. Production values are to be appreciated.
Plus Points:
+ Ravi Teja
+ Humor
+ Screenplay
Minus Points:
- Dragged Climax
Final Verdict: Raja entertains well, a must watch for comedy lovers. Mass Maharaj is back!!!
