Story:
Vijay (Sudheer Babu) is a budding children’s book illustrator and he plans to come up with a storybook for children in the form of interesting drawings. In the meanwhile, he happens to meet film actress Sameera (Aditi Rao Hydari) the as his father (Naresh) gives permission to use their house for shooting.
Vijay being a movie-hater falls for actress Sameera as they develop a special bond while helping her with Telugu dialogues. Vijay’s love for Sameera makes him propose to her about his love and she smoothly rejects his proposal.
Why Sameera rejects Vijay’s love? Is there any reason for her refusal? These questions will get answers on the silver screen.
Actors & Performances:
Sudheer Babu: He is been on his way to becoming a mature actor and the portrayal of this role in Sammohanam really helps him in the aspect of acting. He showcased subtle performance in the movie and especially his acting in love proposal scene is best from him so far.
Aditi Rao Hydari: Aditi who is a beautiful lady having Telugu roots in her personal life finally made her debut into Telugu movies. She played the role of Sameera with so much ease and her portrayal as a Telugu learning actress is too good. She is an asset to this film.
Naresh: This seasoned actor exploded like a wildfire of acting in the film. He showcased his vast experience of acting in delivering this spellbound performance from him. He stands out as the best performer in the movie.
Pavitra Lokesh: She is very natural and beautiful at the same in the film. Pavitra Lokesh did a marvellous job as a guiding mother to the hero and in some scenes, she excelled as an artist with her natural performance.
Tanikella Bharani, Abhay, Rahul Ramakrishna, Harshini & Hari Teja did their best in small roles.
Analysis:
Writer-Director Mohanakrishna Indraganati always sticks to his own style in doing films having a simple basic plot with a tightly knitted screenplay. Sammohanam movie is also one among the above style. Sammohanam movie has a very simple basic plot of a love story with small issues and he made it look beautiful with his screenplay magic.
Firstly, he achieved success in picking up the right cast for the film and later he wrote some beautiful scenes which are having the capacity to engage the audience. Finally, he did his directional job so well in aligning all of them in a best possible order.
Sammohanam movie turns out as the good film with neat dialogues & good scenes. This credit must go to the captain of the ship and his taste for good cinema gets revealed with the output of this movie. He needs a special mention to his dialogues in the film as some of the dialogues got huge applause from the audience.
Lastly, Mohanakrishna needs to be especially appreciated for continuing his success streak at the box office with good content films.
Technical Aspects:
The Cinematography from PG Vindha is superb and visuals played a major role in setting up the right mood in the film. Vivek Sagar’s heart touching music turns as a major addition to the flick and Production Design from Ravinder is top notch.
