Tamil star hero Ilayathalapathy Vijay & director AR Murugadoss’ combination is known as the hit combination in the Kollywood circuit. Well, their previous collaborations Thuppaki & Kaththi movies created new records with their enormous run at the box office.
Now, coming to this project- Sarkar, it made headlines even before the release due to the copyright infringements as the original writer of this story approached the writers association. However, this matter got resolved after Murugadoss agreed to credit the concerned person during the screening of the movie.
Story:
Sundar Ramasamy (Vijay) is a Businessman based in the USA. He is well known for capturing other corporate companies with his intelligence & strategies. He is known as a Corporate Monster in the business circles.
At this juncture, he comes to India to cast his vote in the elections. Sundar gets a big shock as he gets to learn his vote has already been cast. It makes him think and know about the laws & regulations in India.
His judiciary fight regarding his vote and the consequences make him enter into politics. Did he survived in the Politics or not is the rest of the story.
Actors & Performances:
Vijay: Once again he lived in the role of a Corporate Monster who turned as a shrewd politician. His performance in the movie would be like a big treat to his fans on this festive season.
Keerthy Suresh: Unfortunately, she got a least significant role in the movie.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar: She got a meaty role in the film. Major portions of the story revolve around her character.
Analysis:
Director Murugadoss is a person who knows the star value & larger than life image of hero Vijay. In one way, Murugadoss is known to make films on social issues with a commercial touch.
Sarkar movie also falls into the Murugadoss mark films and he picked ‘vote’ as the main plot for this movie. With his gripping narration, he touched 49A article in the Indian constitution and utilised it to full in the screenplay of Sarkar.
However, the second half loses the realistic touch and moves away into a non-believable zone with Murugadoss screenplay. Here there is a big chance of a common audience may get disconnects from the movie. It will be a perfect film for Vijay’s fans from Murugadoss.
Technical Aspects:
Music from AR Rahman is not up to his standards. Girish’s Cinematography is top notch. Action sequences in the film are stylishly designed by the action director. The screenplay from AR Murugadoss is good.
Plus Points:
+ Vijay
+ Mass Elements
+ Basic Plot
Minus Points:
- Logic-less scenes
- Keerthy Suresh Role
Final Verdict: Sarkar- Exclusively for Vijay’s Fans.
