Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja & Director Sreenu Vaitla’s combination always turns out as a fruitful one. As their collaborations like Nee Kosam, Venky, Dubai Seenu worked at the box office and those won the hearts of the audience as well.
Well, after a gap of almost ten years, they came together for the film Amar Akbar Anthony. Already teaser & the trailer of AAA grabbed the attention of audiences.
Finally, whether Ravi Teja & Sreenu Vaitla bounce back with this film or not is discussed below in the Amar Akbar Anthony Review.
Story:
Amar (Ravi Teja) loses his family in a blast planned by four ruthless criminals. Later consequences make him land in jail for 14 years under murder charges. After his custodial term, he starts executing the revenge plan against those people who killed his family.
At this point, he finds an interesting thing about himself which is related to his parent's murder. Did he took the revenge against those 4 members and how he is related to Pooja (Ileana) are the questions unfold on the silver screen.
Actors & Performances:
Ravi Teja: He sparkled in three roles – Amar, Akbar & Anthony. Especially, his role as Akbar is entertaining and it could engage the audience to some extent.
Ileana: She got a pivotal role in the movie. However, due to the weak screenplay, she didn’t get much to portray on the screen.
Vennela Kishore: He is stress buster in the movie. His character is a big comic relief in the entire film.
Sunil: After a long time, he is back again as a full-time entertainer. However, it seems he is still underutilized in the movie.
Sathya: He played one of the real-life inspired roles in the movie. He gave his best and this role could be a big break for him in the film career. He did a splendid job.
The remaining cast did their parts.
Analysis:
Sreenu Vaitla is master in creating and executing the entertainment on silver screen. However, his recent films have become duds at the box office. This has been happening to him as he is trying to collaborate his mark entertainment with a regular commercial story.
Amar Akbar Anthony is also somewhat very much similar to the above said one. He creamed entertainment to a revenge story and for this story, he added a point called “ Dissociative Identity Disorder’. Well, he fumbled at providing the screenplay for this movie as the whole scene sequences are missing logic and make the audience impatient while watching the film. Entertainment also may not work every time as
the screenplay lacks the impact.
Finally, this film also joins the list of Sreenu Vaitla’s failure films.
Technical Aspects:
Thaman songs are not up to the mark. Cinematography and Editing are moderate. Sreenu Vaitla’s screenplay goes for a toss. However, the comedy portions were written well. Mythri Movie Makers produced a grand film.
Plus Points:
+ Entertainment
Minus Points:
- Story
- Screenplay
- Direction
- Songs
Final Verdict: Amar Akbar Anthony – 'Disorder' Film.
