Story:
The movie revolves under the murder case of Prime Minister of India, Mr. Chandra Kanth Varma (Mohanlal), who dies in a terrorist attack. His personal security officer (Suriya) believes that there is a conspiracy behind the murder and starts investigating it. What're the roles of Boman Irani, Arya, and Sayyessha in this story? To know that, watch the film in the cinemas.
Performances:
Suriya once again delivers an impeccable performance as an NSG commando and security personnel of the Prime Minister. His screen presence is a delight to watch and the actor carries the entire film on his shoulders. Mohanlal is a perfect fit for the PM's role and he has done justice to it. Arya is likable in his role and so is Sayyessha who got good scope to perform in the second half. Bollywood actor Boman Irani has also given a good performance in the role of an industrialist.
Technical Aspects:
Bandobast is an out and out action thriller which was made on a heavy budget. The production values were top-notch and producer Subhaskaran made sure to give a quality output. The cinematography by MS Prabhu was also equally good and he made visuals so appealing on the big screen. Music by Harris Jayaraj was a let down though.
Review:
Director KV Anand chose an interesting storyline which was quite unique. Though the first half is decent, the proceedings turn slow in the latter half and make the film a bit boring. The film goes on a serious note right from the beginning to the end and has no space for comedy. On the whole, Bandobast is a mixed bag which could have been done in a more engaging way.
Plus Points:
Performances
Suriya
BGM
Story
Minus:
Unnecessary Scenes
Slow Narration
Final Verdict: Bandobast Works in Parts!
