Vijay Devarakonda became a producer for his 'Pelli Choopulu' director Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam starrer 'Meeku Mathrame Cheptha'. The movie which features Abhinav Gomatam, Naveen George Thomas, Vani Bhojan, Anasuya Bharadwaj, etc in crucial roles is all set to hit the theatres in November 1st. The film's trailer impressed everyone, and a newcomer Shammer Sultan is introduced as a director with the project. Check out the review described below.
Story:
Rakesh (Tharun Bhascker) is a television anchor. One day, she falls in love with a doctor (Vani Bhojan). She also falls in love with him. Their parents accept to get them married. Just when everything is going so well, an embarrassing video of Rakesh goes viral on the internet. What kind of video is it? What problems did he face because of that video? Did he succeed in removing that video from the internet? What happens when his fiance sees the video? What happened, in the end, forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam has made a point that he can also be a good actor with his superb performance in the movie. The way he has blended with the character and essayed it on the silver screens is excellent, and he is genuinely the show-stealer of the film. Abhinav Gomatam is an asset to the film. His energetic performance will definitely engage the audience throughout the film. Naveen George Thomas also got an interesting role in the movie, and he has justified the role completely. It is evident that Anasuya Bharadwaj has given her 100% in portraying her role though her screen time is less. Vani Bhojan looked stunning in the movie and will also impress with her elegant performance. Avantika Mishra justified her role and delivered a decent performance in the film. Pavani Gangireddy's screen presence is fun to watch. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
Shameer Sultan not only came up with an interesting plotline for the movie but also succeeded in executing it properly. He has concentrated more on the entertainment factor in the film and will definitely give a fun ride for the audience. Production values by Vijay Devarakonda under King Of The Hill Entertainment banner are very high. It is evident that Vijay Devarakonda has not compromised in terms of quality. Music by Sivakumar is also outstanding. Though his songs are just average, we can say that his BGM is really impressive. Cinematographer Mathan Gunadeva has produced some sleek visuals for the film and his camera angles are also really lovely. Editing by Sreejith Sarang is decent.
Review:
The first 30 minutes of the movie will be boring and won't engage the audience. The entire first half is just average. Interesting characterizations, performances, and entertaining narration are the highlights of the film. The interval twist will increase the interest among the audience. More than the first half, the second half is well-executed, and the story is well narrated. But, some of the scenes felt repetitive. We can say that the director has succeeded in targeting the young audience with this movie as the youth can easily relate and connect well with this storyline of the film. The movie has some dull moments in the second half, which will become the minus points in the movie. However, on the whole, 'Meeku Matrame Chepta' is a one time watch, especially for the youth.
Plus Points:
Performances
Comedy
BGM
Dialogues
Minus Points:
Not for all the audiences
Some boring scenes in Second half
Punch Line: 'Meeku Mathrame Cheptha' works in parts with its funny storyline
