Performances:
Rajnikanth can be considered as the major driving factor for the film. His outstanding performance is one of the most interesting things that will keep the audience engaged throughout the film. The way Rajinikanth portrayed the role is superb. Nayanthara is an absolute stunner in the film. The actress not only looked gorgeous but also has delivered her best performance in the film. Nivetha Thomas got a meaty role in this film and she will definitely impress the audience with her refreshing performance. Suniel Shetty and Prateik Babbar's performances added more strength to the film. Jatin Sarna justified his role. Nawab Shah and Dalip Tahil are perfect for their roles. Yogi Babu's comedy timing is also good.

Technical Aspects:
Director AR Murugadoss has succeeded in showcasing Rajnikanth's character in an interesting way. His way of story narration is really engaging and he has also executed the story really well. Production values by Lyca Productions are luxurious. Music by Anirudh Ravichander is simply superb. A couple of songs have already received a good response from the audience and also his amazing background score elevated each and every scene in the film. Cinematographer Santosh Sivan will impress with his grand visuals and captivating camera angles. Editing by A Sreekar Prasad is neat.

Review:
Having an interesting storyline can be considered as the biggest plus point for this movie. The director has succeeded in narrating the story without focusing more on the unnecessary elements. Especially, the first half is filled with so much entertainment but the director also took the story forward without any drag. When compared to the first half, the second half is somewhat slow but the amazing performances by the actors will keep the audience stick to their chair. Also, the pre-climax and climax could have been handled well. Storyline, narration, performances and background score are the biggest plus points of this film. Murugadoss could have come up with much powerful writing for the film. Some scenes in the second half could have been chopped off. To conclude, 'Darbar' is a worth watching movie.

Plus Points;
Rajinikanth's one-man show
Music and BGM
Racy screenplay
Action sequences

Some loose-ends of the script
