Uppena is one of the much-talked projects in recent times in Telugu. Vaishnav Tej, the nephew of Megastar Chiranjeevi makes his debut with the film. Krithi Shetty is the heroine. Buchi Babu Sana is the director. Vijay Setupathi plays a full-length role in the movie. The film released today and the following is the review.

Story:
Aashi (Vaishnav Tej) falls in love with Bebamma (Krithi Shetty). Bebamma's father Rayanam (Vijay Setupathi) opposes their love, which creates disturbances in their life. What happened then? To what extent did Rayanam go to divide the couple? Did the couple unite? forms the story of the film.

Performances:
Performances wise, everyone has given their best for the film. Especially, Vijay Setupathi is such a stunning performer who can mesmerize the audiences with his screen presence itself. He has done a violent yet powerful character in the film which will stay with us for a long time. Vaishnav Tej's eyes are so special. They express a lot. It is his plus point. He emoted well in the film. He delivered a finest performance in debut and will have a bright career in Tollywood. His chemistry with Krithi Shetty worked well in the movie. Krithi Shetty played her part like an experienced actor and made no mistake in stealing audiences hearts. The other actors also made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:
Shamdat is the cinematographer of the film who has given his best for the film. The ace cinematographer has come up with a fresh tone for the film. Every frame looked beautiful and it made us feel that we are actually involved in the film. Music director Devi Sri Prasad has come up with a successful audio album after a long time. His background score is also impressive like the audio album. The production design is excellent. The detailing that the team put care on shows their passion for cinema. The editing is nice. The production values are excellent.

Analysis:
Director Buchi Babu Sana tries to portray the inter-caste love story and its hurdles in the movie. We have seen quite a lot of movies on the same concept. Thus, Uppena doesn't have any uniqueness in its plot. But the way it was executed and helped by the main cast, make this movie a partly-engaging watch. Hero Vaishnav Tej was decent and played his part well. Krithi Shetty looked beautiful and performed effortlessly. There is no need for talking about Vijay Sethupathi's performance as he aced it. The first half was good but the things go for a toss in the second half. The proceedings were dragged until the climax. The finale episode may not appeal to all sections of audiences. On the whole, Uppena is a mixed bag that could have been made in a more appealing way.

Plus Points:
Performances
Music
Camera Work

Minus Points:
Routine Story
Weak execution

Final Verdict: Uppena, A Beautiful Wave Of Love.
