After scoring his career's biggest hit with Bimbisara, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is now back with his new film Amigos. Directed by debutant Rajendra Reddy, this triple-action entertainer hit the screens today. Here is the review of it.

Story:
Siddhu (Kalyan Ram) is a happy-go-lucky guy from Hyderabad. He falls in love with Ishika (Ashika Ranganath). In the meantime, he also happens to meet two of his doppelgangers Manjunath Hegde and Michael. How Siddhu's life changes after he meets his doppelgangers and what happens to his love story form the film's main plot.

Performances:
Kalyan Ram gave an earnest performance in all three characters. His efforts can be seen on the screen. He should be commended for his script choices and the dedication he is showing in his every film. He is the complete show stealer in Amigos.

Ashika Ranganath got a decent role and she did well. She is glamorous as well. We can expect her to bag some fancy offers in Telugu. Brahmaji and Jaya Prakash were adequate in their roles. The rest others didn't have much to do in the movie.

Technical Aspects:
Writer-director Rajendra Reddy came up with a unique and interesting subject for his maiden film. Even the characters and the set-up he created are engaging. But the predictability of the story and lack of any thrills make the proceedings very flat.

The music by Ghibran is decent. The remix song is very well done and looks beautiful on screen. The cinematography by Soundar Rajan is excellent. The production values make the film look rich. Tammiraju's editing is apt.

Review:
Triple-action films are not new to the Telugu film industry. In Amigos, the concept of the doppelgangers is introduced well without creating any confusion. Siddhu's character and his love story get established in the beginning. His part takes most of the first half. That makes the film a bit boring in parts. People wait for the other two doppelgangers to contribute to the story.

The movie picks up pace towards the interval. The mid-point is very good and creates interest among audiences. The interval creates interest in the second half. The real story begins in that half but the way it was executed is highly predictable. Thus, the audience gets disappointed once again. On the whole, Amigos is a good attempt which was made underwhelming by amateur execution.

Plus Points:
Kalyan Ram's performance
The premise of the story

Minus Points:
First Half
Predictable Screenplay
Flat comedy

One-Line Verdict: Good Idea; Average Execution.
