Actor Sharwanand, who is in need of a big success, has come up with his new film Manamey. Directed by Sriram Adittya, this movie features Kriti Shetty as the female lead. The movie hit the screens today and let's check out how it is.

Story:

Vikram (Sharwanand) is a carefree and play-boy kind of a guy who lives in London. In a tragic turn of events, he along with Subhadra (Kriti Shetty), had to become caretakers for a kid named Kushi (Vikram Adittya). What led them to become Kushi's caretakers? How relationship blossom between the contrasting personalities of Vikram and Kushi? How did their lives turn after Kushi's entry? To know the answers, you have to watch the movie.

Performances:

It is a cakewalk for Sharwanand to play such lively and entertaining characters. Once again, he proved his ability to pull off a similar character. He manages to elevate boring scenes with his lively performance. Even his stylish avatar looked good on screen. Kriti Shetty is seen after a gap and she was decent in her role. However, her character needed better writing. Baby actor Kushi is adorable. Seerat Kapoor and Ayesha Khan's cameos would appeal to youngsters. Others like Rahul Ravindran, Shiva Kandukuri, Rahul Ramakrishna and Vennela Kishore fail to create an impact.

Technical Aspects:

Director Sriram Adittya's story is routine but execution is fresh. However, he fails to maintain that freshness throughout the film. The first half was better compared to the second half. The director could've focused on his writing in the latter half of the movie. Hesham Abdul Wahab's music is a highlight. He adds emotional depth with his background score but songs fail to create an impact. The cinematography by Vishnu Sarma and Gnanashekar V.S. is very good. The production values are great too. Both cinematography and production values add richness to the movie.

Plus Points:

Sharwanand
Background Score
Production Values and Cinematography

Minus Points:

Second Half
Routine Screenplay

Review:

Manamey starts off really well with good engaging scenes and a fresh narrative. It just goes on like that till the interval. But during the second half, where emotional depth was needed, the writing falters. As a result, audiences get bored and wait for the movie to end. If only the second half was better, Manamey would have become a good family movie to watch out for this weekend. Nevertheless, you can give it a try if you have plans to watch a movie in the next few days. On the whole, Manamey is decent but could have far from great.
