Two popular actors- Allari Naresh & Sunil are facing a hard time at movies as their films are not clicking at the box office. At this juncture, these two performers with ultimate comic timing came together for a film called Silly Fellows.
At this juncture, this Silly Fellows movie would bring back the success to Naresh & Sunil or not is discussed below in Silly Fellows review.
Story:
Allari Naresh (Veerababu) is a staunch loyalist to MLA Jacket Janakiram (JP), he always dreams to become like his boss. One day, Veerababu pays Rs 10 Lakhs to JP for the sake of Police job for his love interest Vasanthi (Chitra Shukla).
At this juncture, MLA happens to know about a secret regarding Rs 500 Cr which was kept aside for the people welfare from a cabinet minister. Well, this Rs 500 Cr secret becomes a mystery as MLA gets seriously injured in an accident.
The accident of JP makes things harder for Veerababu as his Rs 10 Lakhs got struck with MLA and at the same time, the arch-rivals of MLA start their search for the Rs 500 Cr amount.
Did Veerababu able to get back his Rs 10 lakhs from MLA? Do the people able to find the Rs 500 Cr? These questions unfolds on the silver screen.
Actors & Performances:
Allari Naresh: He did absolute justice to the character of Veerababu and his easeful performance brought freshness to the movie.
Sunil: He made a good comeback as a comedian with this movie. His performance as Suribabu created laughter in the film and this film may become his turnaround in his second innings as a comedian.
Heroines Chitra Shukla & Nandini Rai played their parts in the movie. Comedians JP & Posani Krishnamurali gave their best in creating the comedy in the film.
Analysis:
Frankly, Silly Fellows movie is a routine story which is nothing to offer interestingly to the audience. However, seasoned director Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao took this routine story and added entertainment to make this movie look different.
As the first half comprises of the search for the Rs 500 Cr and director inculcated the humorous comedy scenes around this search game. Director made sure that Posani, Raja Ravindra, Brahmanandam’s roles provide the necessary entertainment to the audience.
In the second half, the screenplay becomes even faster as compared to the first half. Especially the comedy track between Posani & JP turned out as the highlight in the pre-climax portions. Well, the director gives the least importance to the logic as we can see so many illogics in the story.
Technical Aspects:
Music is good as there are only two songs in the film. Writing part in the entertainment portions clicked well and especially the comedy scenes of Posani Krishnamurali & JP are quite entertaining.
Plus Points:
+ Performances
+ Entertainment
+ Songs
Minus Points:
-Weak Story
-Second Half
Final Verdict: Silly Fellows is a “Silly Attempt”.
