After winning the audiences' hearts with the films Padman and Gold last year, Akshay Kumar has now come up with the exciting project titled as Kesari. The film is based on the true story of one of the bravest battles that India ever fought – the Battle of Saragarhi. The movie released today in the theatres. Check out the film's review here.

Story:

When India was under Britsh's rule, ten thousand Afghanistan soldiers tried to invade India. At that time, 21 Indian Sikh soldiers, header by Ishar Singh (Akshay Kumar) showed courage and bravery to fight against them. A big battle took place between 21 Indian Sikh soldiers and thousands of Afghan soldiers. What happened then? What happened before and after the war took place? Forms the story of the movie.

Kesari is Akshay Kumar's one-man show. The way he transformed himself into a Sikh soldier is phenomenal. His performance is commendable in the movie. Usually, Akshay Kumar gets to his best in playing characters like Ishar Singh and he made no mistake in the execution. Akshay showed a lot of dedication in playing the character in Kesari. Parineethi Chopra was paired opposite Akshay in the film and she was only limited to one song. Her presence is good in the movie. All the other actors played their parts well and impressed everyone.

Technical Aspects:

Anurag Singh, the director of the film translated the script perfectly into the movie. A real story was presented in an effective way with brilliant narration and amazing performances. The fight sequences were choreographed and executed neatly. The quality of the film is excellent. The cinematography is good. The camera work is superb. The music is good and the background score of the movie elevated the film perfectly. The editing is crisp and the runtime is perfect. The production values are grand.

Review:

The director Anurag Singh's effective directorial skills helped the film reach the audiences well. The coordination with all the departments is visible on the screen and he must be commendable for the efforts he put in for the movie. The director did not compromise anywhere in making the film entertaining. The story that happened in history has no witness by the current generation but the director depicted it in an intriguing manner. Some of the scenes lack proper logic but on the whole, the movie turned out to be a decent attempt.

Plus:

Akshay Kumar
Screenplay
BGM
Story

Minus Points:

Few dragged scenes
Missing logic in some scenes

Final Verdict:
Akshay Kumar's one-man show is not-to-be-missed!
