Colour Photo is the latest Telugu film streaming on the Aha platform. The love story has a lot of conflicts, in Telugu cinema, and for this movie, Colour becomes a major conflict for the movie. Interestingly, the film marks the debut of a new director Sandeep Raj. Sunil played the lead antagonist in the film. Chandini Chowdary is the leading lady. Check out the review of the film here.
Story:
Jaya Krishna (Suhas) is the son of a milkman. He joins engineering and comes across Deepthi (Chandini Chowdary). After meeting a couple of times, they fall for one another. Deepthi proposes her love for Jaya Krishna. But the conflict comes in the form of Deepthi's brother Rama Raju (Sunil). Rama Raju disapproves of their relationship showing Jaya Krishna's color as a problem. What did the couple do then? Forms the film's plot.
Performances:
Colour Photo is the first film for Suhas as a hero. His comedy timing, dialogue delivery, and innocent performance are appreciable. He played the character of Jaya Krishna very well. His chemistry with Chandini Chowdary also worked out well in the movie. Chandini Chowdary looked cute and beautiful in the film. She played her part so well and presented the variations in the role with a lot of ease. Sunil is okay in his role and he looked overboard in some scenes while showering the villianism. Viva Harsha is another talent to watch out for, with this movie. The rest of the cast did well.
Technical Aspects:
Sai Rajesh Neelam of Hrudaya Kaleyam and Kobbari Matta fame penned the story for this film. The story has got an interesting message but it was not hard-hitting as it is expected to be. The narration of the movie is slow. The music scored by Kaala Bhairava is excellent. His score helped the film get a good reception from the audience. The dialogues are good and go well with the situations. The camera work is nice. The film takes place in the 90s and the art department worked well to present the past on the screen with a nostalgic touch. The editing is decent. The production values are nice too.
Analysis:
The point that the director wanted to convey to the movie is very thin. The film reminds us of any other popular love story that we have already seen on the big screen. We have seen love stories falling into trouble because of caste, religion, and other factors. Colour Photo has 'Colour' as the conflict now. The film meets the audiences with limited characters but they leave their mark with their performances.
Sandeep Raj worked on the story penned by Sai Rajesh. It does not have anything new to offer the audiences. The narration of the movie is slow-paced. The film starts on a dull note and the director takes his time in establishing his characters and conflict. The best part of the movie is the performances of the actors. Everyone showcased natural performances. The first half of the film looked a little slow but the film ended on an impressive note.
The second half could have been dealt with, in a different way. The things are predictable and the routine execution did not appeal to the audiences. The climax again is written cleverly to touch the hearts of the audiences. The director is certainly talented but a better subject would have brought the best out of him. The writing could have been better. For a routine story, an engaging screenplay would make a difference but it did not happen with the film. However, the film is okayish for the maximum portions.
Plus Points:
Performances
Background Score
Dialogues
Camera Work
Minus Points:
Slow Narration
Predictable Plot
Final Verdict: Colour Photo is an okayish love story that could have been better!
