We already know that popular actor turned director Raghava Lawrence is all set to mark his directorial debut in Bollywood with the 'Laxmii Bomb' movie. The makers have recently changed the title as Laxmii. Featuring none other than Bollywood star hero Akshay Kumar in the lead role, the movie has finally got released on Disney + Hotstar today. Kiara Advani played the female lead in this movie. Touted to be the official Hindi remake of 2011 released 'Kanchana' movie, the teaser and trailer have already received a thumping response from the audience. Let's see how far the movie has succeeded in reaching the expectations of the audience.

Story:
Aasif (Akshay Kumar) is a Muslim who marries a Hindu girl Rashmi (Kiara Advani). The duo doesn't have any support from their families but will be leading a happy life. Asif doesn't believe in ghosts. One day, Rashmi's mother forgives them and asked them to stay with them. The couple also becomes happy and get united. However, some weird things start happening around them. Though the family members say that they are the doings of a ghost, Aasif who doesn't believe in ghosts wants to break their superstition. But, in this process, Aasif himself gets possessed by a spirit. Who is the spirit? What happened to her and what does she want? What happened to Aasif in the end? forms the rest of the story.

Performances:
Akshay Kumar's mind-blowing performance is undoubtedly the biggest plus point for the film. Despite having so many minus points, his energetic performance is one of the things that will engage the audience.

Kiara Advani as usual looked beautiful and grabbed the attention with her performance. Ayesha Raza Mishra delivered a decent performance in the film. Tushar Kapoor delivered an energetic performance.

Sharad Kelkar also did an impressive job in impressing the audience with his performance. Tarun Arora did a good job in essaying his role. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:
Director Raghava Lawrence has addressed so many key issues in the movie like gender bias, sex trafficking, and violence against women in the movie. Despite making some changes in the storyline as well as the characters, the director has utterly failed in entertaining the audience and engaging them throughout the movie.

The production values of Fox Star Studios, Cape of Good Films, Shabinaa Entertainment, Tushar Entertainment House are superb. The background score by Amar Mohile is good and will engage the audience. Cinematographer Vetri Palanisamy did a good job in producing some bright visuals for the film. Editing by Rajesh G. Pandey is just average.

Plus Points:
Camera Work
Music
Performances

Minus Points:
Weak execution
Screenplay
Narration

Analysis: The movie started off well and the first half is filled with flashbacks, some spooky moments, and a boring screenplay. The interval bang is also just average. The second half also failed to increase the pace of the narration which has disappointed the audience. Despite having some biggest plus points in the movie like the performances, background score, etc, there are so many minus points in the movie like the screenplay, slow narration, abrupt story transitions, song placements, etc. To conclude, Laxmii movie has utterly failed to impress the audience.

Final Verdict: 'Laxmii' bomb failed to explode!
