Young hero Ram Pothineni who has recently tasted success with Puri Jagannath's directorial 'iSmart Shankar' is going to come up with another action entertainer titled as 'Red'. Touted to be the official Telugu remake of Tamil super hit film 'Thadam', Kishore Tirumala of 'Chitralahari' fame is helming this project. The movie is going to mark the third collaboration of Ram and Kishore Tirumala after hit movies like Nenu Sailaja and Unnadi Okate Zindagi. For the first time in his career, Ram played a dual role in the movie. Nivetha Pethuraj, Malavika Sharma, and Amrita Aiyer played the female leads in this movie which hit the silver screens today on January 14th, 2021. Here is the review of the film.

Story:
Aditya and Siddharth (both played by Ram) are look likes. Aditya is a thief while Siddharth is in the construction business. An unexpected murder takes place and Siddharth becomes the main accused in the case. However, the cops trace Aditya and frame him in the case. In a whole confusion, the cops take out time to find out the real culprit in the murder. Did cops finish their job? What is the murder about? What happens in the end? Forms the film's story.

Performances:
Ram Pothineni got a challenging role in this film but the actor has portrayed the role in an energetic way. He has justified his role completely. Nivetha Pethuraj looked gorgeous in the film. Malvika Sharma delivered her best performance in the film. Amritha Aiyer went under the skin of the character and acted well. Sampath Raj acted naturally in the film. Vennela Kishore is good in his role. Nassar's performance added much strength to the film. Posani Krishna Murali breathes life into his character. Satya and Sonia Agarwal delivered honest performances in the film. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:
We knew that it is a remake movie and the makers also haven't made any major changes in the script. However, we can see that there is no Tamil flavor in the film which can be considered as a plus point. Director Kishore Tirumala has presented the story in an engaging way and still succeeded in retaining the soul of the film. Production values by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore under Sri Sravanthi Movies are lavish. The producers have invested decent amounts for the movie. Mani Sharma's music is the backbone of the film. His outstanding BGM can be considered as one of the driving factors for the film. The cinematography by Sameer Reddy is excellent. Editing by Junaid Siddiqui is clean and neat.

Analysis:
Ram's RED is a big disappointment for the fans who were waiting to witness a success for a long time. Ram tried his best in coming up with an exciting film but it is laced with a lot of outdated episodes and unnecessary changes from the original. RED is the official remake of Tamil film Thadam. The film is a serious investigation drama but when it comes to Telugu, the film unit could not design an engaging screenplay that could hook the audiences to the plot. Ram has delivered his best for the film. Apart from that, there is not much to talk about this poorly stretched film. Even thriller genre fans would not like it and the film falls short of the expectations.

Plus Points:
Ram's Performance
Mani Sharma's Music

Minus Points:
Weak Plot
Non-Engaging Screenplay
Outdated episodes

Final Verdict: Ram's RED falls short of expectations!
