Story:
Set in a fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, Kantara is a visual grandeur that brings alive the traditional culture of Kambla and Bhootha Kola. The soul of the story is on human and nature conflict.


Shiva (Rishab Shetty) is the rebellion and works against nature. There are intense conflicts he indulges in. In the end, a much awaiting loop leads to war between the villagers and the evil forces. What did Shiva do then to save his village? How did he take up this challenge? Forms the story of the film.


Performances:
Performances wise, the film has everything that can woo the audiences. Rishabh Shetty is terrific in the role of the lead protagonist. He has a balance of portraying the emotions. His comedy timing is good and his intense performance is a big plus point of the film.�


Sapthami Gowda is good in her part. The love track between Rishab Shetty and Sapthami Gowda is extremely impressive. On the other hand, the seasoned artists have put brilliant performances too. Artists like Achyuth Kumar and Kishore Kumar performed well. The rest of the cast did well and made their presence felt.


Technical Aspects:
The film is top notch in terms of technical aspects. The film's biggest plus point is the background score. The BGM scored by Ajaneesh Loknath is extremely impressive. The makers spent well on the film and the quality of the movie is amazing.


The cinematography by Arvind Kashyap is excellent. The visuals look so natural, rustic and authentic. The technical values elevated the film perfectly well. The VFX work and the production design is excellent.


Review:
Kanthara is one of the films that is very rare on the celluloid. The care that has been taken for the making of the film is highly impressive. Billed to be a rustic village drama, the movie has been narrated in an intriguing manner. The engrossing moments of the film will catch our attention and will arrest us.


It is a cinematic brilliance and a visual spectacle. Rishab Shetty has kept his blood and should for the film which is very much evident on the big screen. The film's story lacks a big span but it is appreciable that the director pulled out an engaging screenplay out of the same. The film, on the whole, gives a grand visual experience in theatres.
